I am very happy to share this beautiful song, ABC and 123, by Namibian talent: Sean K
I have produced this song myself as a message from Merck Foundation to support children’s education and gender equality in education. Even in times of war and pandemic, every child, whether a boy or a girl, has the equal right to learn and receive education. No child should be left behind.
However, conflicts and the COVID-19 pandemic are interrupting children´s dreams and hope in Africa and developing countries. We have to work together to bring them back to school or bring the school to their homes if they need it!
Merck Foundation, in partnership with the African First Ladies, advocates the importance of education in general and girls’ education in specific. Together, we are supporting the education of 20 high performing but unprivileged girls in many countries, through providing school fees, uniforms and books.
Moreover, we worked in partnership with The First Lady of Ghana, H.E. Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo and the UNFPA to deliberately mentor adolescent girls through BECAUSE I WANT TO BE television show as part of the “Educating Linda” program. This program aims to enable girls to stay in school until they complete Senior High School and to enable the positive transformation of society.
The TV show will start airing from the 3rd Saturday of September 2020.
We have to work together to do whatever it takes to help all children build their own future.
Even in times of war and pandemic, no child should be left behind.
