"Happy World Embryologists Day, Congratulations to all of you. I strongly believe in your critical role to improve access to information, change of mindset, and quality & equitable fertility care across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the rest of the world.

I am very proud that as part of ‘Merck More Than A Mother’ campaign in partnership with African First Ladies, Ministries of Health, Academia and Fertility Societies, we were able to train more than
82 Embryologists from 27 countries, and to be first local embryologists in many countries where they never had local embryologists or fertility specialists before. Together with you, Merck Foundation Alumni, and our partners, we are making history and reshaping the landscape of fertility care.

The training program was provided for countries such as; Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, DRCongo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinee, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Russia, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. More Embryologists will be trained by Merck Foundation in more countries to continue our commitment to break the stigma around infertility & around infertile women and to  improve their access to information, change of mindset and quality & equitable fertility care solutions."
